The Presidium of All-Russian Insurance Association on May 20, 2010 decided to create a Reinsurance Committee of ARIA, and Mr. Alexander Artamonov, CEO of Moscow Reinsurance Company, was appointed to be the Chairman of the Committee.
On June 2nd, 2010 in Moscow Re there was held a conference of the action group concerning the creation of ARIA Reinsurance Committee.
The participants of the conference were: A.Artamonov, I.Alekseyev
(“Ingosstrakh”), S.Dedikov (“Moscow Re”), A.Korolev (“Capital
Reinsurance”), E.Platonova ("Nakhodka Re”), O.Sigalovich (“Megapolis”),
S.Shekhovtsova (“Unity Insurance and Reinsurance Company”). They
discussed the questions on the Committee members, deputy nominees,
Committee general guidelines and tasks for the near-term outlook, task
groups and expert groups for activities, and also the Project of the
Committee Regulations.
As the General guidelines there were preliminarily mentioned:
government relations through ARIA of the reinsurance community among
the authorities, protection and promotion of the Russian reinsurance
market among the corporative insurers, international cooperation,
cooperation with the industrial and regional insurers associations,
underwriting enhancements, enforceability of the reinsurance business.
The principal duties of the Committee were specified by the
participants of the conference as activities against dumping and
various schemes in reinsurance, forming a united reinsurance area in
CIS countries, creating a favorable treatment for reinsurers in the
matter of legislative and regulatory control, unification of
contractual regulations of the reinsurance transactions, holding a
Reinsurance Conference in March and General meetings in November.
Also there was coordinated the Project of the ARIA Reinsurance
Committee Regulations, which together with the Committee members
nominees list will be soon presented to the ARIA Presidium.
